Regular exercise maintains the body’s blood pressure and heart rate; and it also involves having fun and participating in activities that make the individual feel relaxed and calm.

A physically healthy individual is free from many physical illnesses, and has higher resistance to diseases. The absence of physical ailments indicates that the person has high levels of mental and emotional well-being. A healthy individual has the capability to adapt to whatever circumstances come his or her way and is capable of responding appropriately. Stress management is also an important factor in achieving well-being. Individuals with a positive outlook in life are less prone to illnesses and disease. A physically fit person is less likely to develop illnesses or disease because of the immune system that fights against the threat, and prevents the onset of the problem.

Mental wellbeing is the sum total of all the individual’s experiences and thoughts, feelings and motivation. The absence of any illness, disease or psychological problem in an individual automatically translates to a good mental health.
